Overview:

Here is a local Arizona garage find. It is an extremely solid 1976 Porsche 911S targa with mostly original paint and interior. This is an original California car that has most of it’s life right here in Phoenix, Arizona so the body is totally rust free. It has its original, #’s matching 2.7L engine that runs like a top and its original 5-spd transaxle that shifts like butter. The car has 239K original miles on it and was over all, very well taken car of. It is in need of some TLC to be a perfect car but it is all here and the perfect, solid car to start with. The car runs and drive excellent and could be driven the way it sits or while you work on it with no problem. We are offering this car at NO Reserve, so it is selling to the highest bidder!! So keep a close eye on this auction!

Options/Equipment:

Original 2.7L Flat 6 Engine
5-Spd Manual Transaxle
Removable Targa Top
Bucket Seats
Guards Red
Tan Leather Interior
Porsche 928/944 Wheels (I do not have the original Fuchs)
Blaupunkt AM-FM Cassette Radio (Not Working)
Factory Air Conditioning (Not Working)
Like New Tires
Original Spare Tire & Complete Tool Kit
Etc….

Exterior:

The car has a perfect, rust free, never been hit body with mostly original paint in the best color of original Guards Red. The paint is fine for a driver but to be perfect the car would need to be painted as it has a few thin spots and a few flaws in the paint. The bottom front both doors need to be realigned as they have sprung out a hair and gently rub on the bottom when you open and close the doors. All the trim, rubber and glass in the car are in very good condition still. It is currently sitting on Porsche 928/944 wheels with like new tires, but I do not have the original Fuchs wheels. Other then the bottom of the doors, everything fits perfectly on the car.

Interior:

The original tan leather interior again is fine for an everyday driver but would need to be redone to be perfect. The carpet has been removed and I do not have it anymore so it defiantly needs new carpet. The original leather seats don’t have any rips but are showing there age. The dash pad, door panels and the steering wheels are still very nice. Some off the trim pieces around the targa top are starting to shrink and show its age. The targa top itself is in excellent condition still. The stereo in the car currently does not work. Both the speedo and tach need to be rebuilt are currently inop. (Note - the speedo & tach quit working very recently so the original miles have not been effected) The rest of the gauges work great.

Mechanically:

The car runs and drives excellent and is very tight and smooth driving. It has its original. #’s matching 2.7L engine that runs like a top. The engine was rebuilt somewhat recently as you can see by the fresh head bolts and various other little things that are new on the motor. The previous owner installed a Blitz Racing CIS to EFI conversion kit on the car to convert it to Electronic Fuel Injection with a programmable ECU. The original Bosch CIS system was taken off and goes with the car. The original California smog equipment was taken off the engine but is in box and goes with the car. All the air conditioning components were removed from under the hood but are in a box and go with the car. Everything for the A/C under the dash and under the bonnet are still intact and still on the car. The heater system was disconnected but all the original parts go with the car. The car has an aftermarket exhaust system on it but the original exhaust system goes with the car. So basically everything original that was removed from the car is all in boxes and is included in the sale and would be easy to put back on the car at some point if you decide to restore this rare little beauty.
